“He shall cover you with his feathers,
And under his wings you shall take refuge…” Psalm 91:4

Pondering the order of these two clauses… First is the promise (He [God] shall cover …). It is followed by what I am to do (take refuge) and where I am to do it (under his wings). The order unfolds in my mind’s eye the great feather-covered wing of God over me, shielding me. And as it does, I lay hold of, receive, accept (take) the refuge he has provided. I take hold of God’s provision of shelter, protection, safety, security, haven, retreat, hiding place — literally and figuratively.
